Speech therapy in Kraków, in English

Late talking

Through play we encourage your child to communicate: with gestures, words and then sentences.

Speech sounds

We find out why some sounds are hard and practise them step by step: first in syllables, then in words and sentences.

Stuttering

When speech gets stuck, we work on fluency and on speaking with less tension. It makes sense at any age.

Voice

For people who talk a lot at work and get tired or lose their voice. We practise breathing and the way you speak.

Tongue, breathing, swallowing

Myofunctional therapy: tongue position, swallowing and breathing through the nose, also before or during orthodontic work.

Before a tongue tie procedure

We prepare for the procedure and show the exercises for the time after it.

Most of our pages are in Polish. If you prefer to read about a topic in more detail, see our page for children (in Polish) or our page for adults (in Polish).

Two languages at home

Growing up with two languages is normal. It is not a reason to stop speaking your home language.

Children who learn two languages often mix words from both, and that is part of learning. It is worth asking a speech therapist when your child has difficulty in both languages, not only in Polish. We look at both languages and tell you clearly what we see. One of our therapists, Weronika Ptaszek, runs assessments and therapy in English.

Your first visit

It takes 50 minutes and costs 180 zł. You do not need a referral.

1

We talk

You tell us what worries you and since when. If you have reports from nursery, school or a doctor, bring them along.

2

We get to know each other

With children we work through play, with adults through conversation and simple exercises. We see how speech, understanding and the mouth work.

3

We make a plan

We tell you clearly what we see and whether therapy is needed. If it is, we agree how often to meet and what to work on.

Speech therapist in Kraków: questions

Is the whole visit in English?

Assessment and therapy with Weronika Ptaszek are in English. Online booking and our website are mostly in Polish, so if anything is unclear, write to us in English: kontakt@slowozaslowem.pl.

Do I need a referral?

No. You can book online or call us.

How much does it cost?

The first visit (assessment) takes 50 minutes and costs 180 zł. Prices of therapy are in our price list (in Polish).

My child speaks two languages. Is it too early to come?

If something worries you, it is a good reason to ask. At the first visit we look at both languages and tell you whether to work on something or simply wait.

Can a parent stay in the room?

It depends on the child and we decide together. Some children feel safer with a parent nearby, others work better on their own.

Do you work with adults too?

Yes: pronunciation, stuttering and voice. After a stroke, see our page on speech therapy after a stroke (in Polish).
